If anything can be stated about J.K. Rowling, yes, she definitely deserves the acclaim that she has received for the Harry Potter books. This comes down to her writing ability, creativity, and legacy that she will leave behind due to her writing. When examined closely outside of the money, films, and other peripheral aspects, the facts become very clear.

To start with, J.K. Rowling began with a wish that many have, she wanted to be a writer and went after it - achieving it. She stepped up to a dream that many disregard as a waste of time and effort, and showed them differently. Her determination has given many new writers, including myself, a hero to look up to and the fact that anyone can achieve their dream with a little determination and hard work. She pervades this in her behavior, actions, and kindness - especially to children. One of her favorite statements that she made said to the effect that some of the favorite books that she loved to sign were those brought in by children who were worn and ratty from having been read a hundred times, more than the pristine copies brought in by adults who were collectors. Her attitude is in the right spot, and she pervades a wonderful role model for others.

Her creativity and writing ability in her books is astounding. The plot trail that runs through the series is solid, interesting, and full of twists that keep the reader engaged. Also, she has created one of the major musts for a successful book - compelling characters. Each one is crafted to the utmost with emotion, appearance, right down to their names. The most interesting twists is that she gave such wonderful and elaborate names to many characters (Dumbledore, Hermione, Flitwick) but to the character that is at the center she gave the most average name she could find: Harry. This is a brilliant stroke, as the average child reading the book will relate to him instantly.

The character interactions is another show of her creative genius. Ron, Hermione, and Harry are the perfect trio, and the love interest between Ron and Hermione is one of the best in the film. She handles teenage feelings with grace and accuracy, giving real life a magical touch. Dumbledore and his interactions with the students and staff is priceless, as he appears to be a little "off" with his references sometimes, but underneath he is a wise and magical genius who gives Harry the constant guidance that he needs and does what is best for him at every turn. Snape is also one of the compelling
