It is said that we are not saved because of our works. We are not saved because we are generally good people. The bible is very specific when they tell us that Jesus Christ died for our sins and through Him and only Him are we to enter in heaven. Jesus paid the ultimate price for us. He knowingly did what he did during his time here on earth to save our souls, so that we might be in heaven with Him one day.
How much more proof than that do we need to realize that our God loves us as much as He does. He is a father who loves us unconditionally. Even when we choose not to turn to him for help.
We are only human and weak when it comes to things of the flesh. But, when we need help; real help. There's only one person to turn to. I've learned that in my life, even though it was a tough lesson to grasp or comprehend at times. We look for miracles, but don't acknowledge them when they happen. We expect things to turn our way, even though we don't do anything to help it come to pass.
How can we explain anything in this world and not understand that it originated through God. His love is abundant and overflowing, even when we don't ask for it. Or even deserve it. He gives us ample opportunities to come to Him for help, knowledge, understanding and yes...just a shoulder to cry on.
If you sat down and read the bible, you would be ashamed of yourself. During the time that Christ was on earth, He did remarkable things. He was a good honest man, trying to spread the word that His father wanted spread. He knew that His life was doomed to death, at a very early age. And yet, He kept working hard to let everyone know that God loved us. So much in fact, that He sent his only son to be born, live as a human and grow to the age of 33 and die on the cross for US. Imagine that. Could you honestly say that you would do the same?
Could you watch your child die and just stand back and do nothing? I know that I would give my life for my children, but to willingly send him to die...I know that I couldn't pull that one off without wanting to die with him. So, why would we believe that we could get to heaven on our morals.
Salvation could only be attained one way and one way alone...through Jesus Christ. He died so that we would have a way home in heaven. A way to be with our father in a kingdom that He has made just for us...for all eternity.
Is Jesus the one way of salvation? You bet He is.
