Ways to earn steady writing income

There are a great many ways to earn steady writing income in these exciting days of Internet and online writing sites. Providing the writer can find the correct sites, suited to the type of writing which they produce, it is entirely possible to earn not only a steady income but a fairly good income from their writing.

There can be no doubt that the most steady writing income a writer can earn is that where they will know that they will be paid a fixed amount for producing a certain word length of copy. Sites which offer this facility include Helium and Associated Content. On Helium, writers have to build their status and their standing on the site by writing a number of quality articles which are well rated by their peers. This will allow them to accumulate a series of writing stars, each one of which will increase the amount which the writer is paid per article. This can lead to a very lucrative and steady writing income for prolific, good quality writers and as royalties are also paid on the articles, a fairly steady residual income in to the bargain.

Associated Content works in a different way altogether in that the writer has to essentially bid for articles which are offered on the site. This introduces far greater uncertainty in to the procedure but the payment amount can be far higher and royalties are paid on an ongoing, similar basis. Care should be taken with Associated Content, however, by those not resident in the United States, as they will find themselves ineligible for upfront payments and that they only qualify for royalties.

It is entirely possible for quality bloggers to make a reasonably steady income from their craft. If they can create a blog which is deemed to be "sticky" and knows regular quality traffic, income can be generated from the likes of Google Adsense and affiliate sales. Although this form of writing income is never guaranteed and can fall off as easily as it was generated in the first instance, there are many who do earn well in this way on a regular basis.

Earning a steady writing income offline is far more difficult. This would only really be entirely guaranteed where the writer has a contract with such as a newspaper, advertising agency, or technical journal. Although many freelancers do earn money very successfully in this way, most also have their lean times.

It is unquestionably technology therefore which has made the process of earning a steady writing income a great deal easier. Although technology would seem at times to be a threat to writing in a traditional sense, for the writer in the modern day it is rather indispensable.
