Billions of people use the Internet daily to communicate with others, entertain themselves, maintain their bank accounts, shop on-line, and more. Business owners know this and have flocked to the Internet to sell their products and services. Of course big business has taken advantage of the opportunities that the Internet, but big business is not the only game in town. Small businesses and independent individuals are responsible for a large amount of the money made on the Internet.

Real money can be made through an on-line business, even by someone with very little to no starting money. Money has been made through on-line businesses since the Internet was born. In the early days, the Internet was comprised of Bulletin Board Systems (BBS). System operators offered access to the service for free, but as popularity grew many of them would sell memberships or time on the boards. Since then the Internet has grown to what we see today. You can hire the services of professionals and buy just about any product you can imagine.

If you want to claim a piece of the action you must be able to cut through the hype. If someone asks if you want to earn $2000 to $5000 per week, run away as fast as you can. The hype that is out there feeds on the part of you that wants to quit your job and find easy money. These offers are a market of their own and the only one that makes money from it is the individual selling that prepackaged business to you. If you truly want an on-line business that you can be proud of, then build your own.

The truth of on-line business is that most businesses and individuals are not making their money from a prepackaged business program; one that was sold to them by someone else touting an income of $10,000 per month. The wealthy Internet business people did not make their fortunes from a cookie-cutter business recipe. In most cases, creative individuals with plenty of passion and ingenuity introduced an original business model or an original product to the market and worked hard to spread the word and build a reputation for themselves.

Some may have obtained loans to help them get started or borrowed money from the parents, but plenty of them started in the basement or garage. Their creativity helps them to get their product or service in front of the masses and their passion drives them to push past obstacles that would stop most in their tracks. A successful on-line business can truly be started with very little or no money. The only assets you need are creativity, passion, and some sweat equity.
