Twisted,
A broken shred of hope,
I longed to cling to you,
In that storm of sorrows,
The tower you were,
So strong,
And everlasting,
But you never saw me,
For who I was,
You saw only that
Over which I had no control,
Screams came forth,
And you turned to leave,
Not even pausing to say goodbye,
Shrouded by loneliness
Looming over me,
I was terrified of that
Which had come to rest at my feet,
I thought you loved me,
I thought you would see me through,
I thought we belonged together,
But I never thought to ask you.

I longed to cling to you,
In that storm of sorrows,
The tower you were,
