I used to use Wikipedia extensively for all my research needs. A lot of the time, I found myself frustrated, not able to trust the information they were giving me. I checked around for other sites with similar information and styles, but none could do me justice. When I stumbled across Helium for the first time, it was for research. I couldn't have been more pleased - the facts were accurate and the articles were very well written.
So what makes Helium better than Wikipedia and another similar site, Digg? Let's start off with the obvious - Helium is 99.9% accurate with their information. Helium works as a website to provide readers with only the most accurate information out there. The Helium members rate articles based on which ones they think are the best, with the option of flagging articles that are inappropriate. If an article is untruthful, the Helium staff will read it, fix it, or delete it.
The articles that provide fake or wrong information are weeded out and removed instantly. The great thing about Helium is that writers are not here to fool people. They're here to make money. And, they can only make money by writing the best articles possible, proof that writers are not providing wrong information for their readers.
Wikipedia is a site that anyone can go on and edit. Wrong information can be found everywhere, and you'll find yourself having a hard time trusting what your reading. The writing isn't "friendly" and the articles are usually cluttered with useless information. Helium, on the other hand, provides clean, on-the-topic articles with writers that not only provide the facts, but add their touch to the topic.
If you've ever visited Digg, you probably know that it's a terrible site for research. It does nothing but provide links to other sites, without knowing how truthful or accurate they are. Anyone can go on there and post the links, but the readers have no idea what they're getting. Some of the sites may even be spam, something Helium does not tolerate.
Helium is a site that provides many different points of view on thousands of topics and articles. Any researcher can come on here and find what they're looking for quickly and without problems. You're guaranteed accurate information from more than writer, eliminating the need to look around for more. Helium is by far the better website.
