Humor: A day at the beach

A day at The Beach This Is What You Will Find

1. Parking meter or parking fees.

Make sure you have enough quarters for that parking meter so you don't end up paying a big fat fine. Parking lot fees can be any where from ten to twenty dollars for the day. Now if you have a handicap license plate and are lucky enough to find a handicap parking space you do not have to pay a cent.

2. Sun burns come easier at the beach so cover up or otherwise you will look like a red lobster.

Use sun block, umbrellas, bury yourself under the sand with a hat over your face, and do where long sleeves. Don't go to sleep sun bathing without covering up.

3. Crowds fighting for just the right spot on the beach.

Remember the tides come rolling in so be watchful or all your towels and beach things will be soaking wet. Find a spot half way to the ocean so you can get off the beach faster in case of an emergency.

Use a bed top sheet for a light weight blanket for the beach to use to cover up or lie on.

Leave your sandals on as beach sand can be extremely hot. Some beaches have small rocks and watch out for sharp sea shells too.

4. Lifeguards rule at the beach.

If you have swam out to too far and the lifeguard blows his whistle and waves you to come in closer to the beach be obedient and do it. You are putting yourself in danger as well as the lifeguard who has many people to watch besides you.

5. Fun in the sand for all ages.

Building sand castles, roads, bridges and burying your parents in the sand are fun things to do.

Flying kites of all sizes and shapes on the beach is a site to see and do on a windy day.

Watch out for Frisbee flying and beach ball throwing.

6. Jumping or riding the waves.

Surfers should go to a surfing spot where their are no swimmers nearby for safety.

Jumping the waves can be fun but don't go out too deep and watch out for under tide that pulls you under. Be sure to face the wave and turn sideways to jump. Never turn your back as a wave may come and knock you down if you are not watching. Being engulfed and swallowed up in the wave is not a very good feeling.

7. Bring a small cooler for drinks and snacks.

Stay hydrated and drink lots of water on a hot day to prevent heat exhaustion. Bring bananas to help leg cramps. Snack crackers with peanut butter to tide you over till supper.

8. Get off the beach and go through the shops.

Pick up postcards, T-Shirts, swimwear, sunglasses, beach towels and souvenirs to give away.
