Liberty State Park

While Liberty State Park is not, technically, a part of Jersey City, it is still one of the best places to go jogging in Jersey City. While it is a bit confusing to get to the park on foot, it's quite easy once you know the secret. Visit http://www.jerseycityuncovered.com/Magazine/Liberty_ SP_Map.html for a map of how to get to the park by bike or on foot. Going past the Jersey City Medical Center, you follow the road down to a gravel area, passing some warehouses to where a small bridge leads to Audrey Zapp Dr. and then on down to the waterfront of Liberty State Park. From there you can follow paved paths along the Hudson River.

Liberty State Park is noted as being a quiet oasis secluded away from the noise of the city that surrounds it. Offering park visitors a quiet place to enjoy the mixture of city and seclusion as they gaze across open grassy areas to the towering skyscrapers of the skyline and some of the best views of Lady Liberty herself.

There is a self guided trail within the park that leads through salt marshes and wildflower meadows.
