Change is long over due for even the religious individuals and groups who misrepresent the true nature and intent of the scriptural ideals of Christianity!
Jesus said, Love your neighbor as yourself and the law shall be fulfilled.(Mathew 22:37-40)
What comes of this, in totality, is that we simply do not understand the meaning of loving our self. We have scriptures, and sacred writings and songs and hymns and so on and so on. We can listen and read and try to acknowledge these things as truth. But if it is truth not made alive in the actions of whom and what you are then, it is false. You live a lie!
And we all know that guilt is the reaction we have from inside our self to a lie we wish to perpetuate. Guilt is based on fear and fear is the driving force behind most all of what we do when pressured into making choices for our betterment or degradation.
Let's get really involved in the solutions then, if change is really necessary:
1) Learn to understand what your feelings mean. If you are about to chastise someone for not being Christ-like, then you had better be prepared to show others your love-based lifestyle. When I say love-based, I mean that your actions are consistent with your belief that you care for yourself in a way that allows others to see a gentle, reflective nature inside you that guides them to further desire some sort of peace or understanding or nobility of character. We all seem to say we want to be like Jesus and live according to His word, but fear is a far more powerful motivator for most of us and thus we do what is best for our checking account or our vanity or our advancement, rather than what is best for ourselves and others. See, there is a slight difference in that. If it is best for you, then it will be best for those who are a part of your life; and I mean a part of your daily life, no matter where you are standing at any given moment. Yes, it is that relevant to you, it is a moment by moment thing. You don't get to pick and choose which people you deem worthy of adding to your list when good things happen, just as is true of the reverse. Our entire life is based on reactions to our feelings. This is where the destruction of judgment comes in.
2) Judge not lest ye be judged (1 John 4:18) and Do unto others as you would have others do unto you (Matthew 22:37-40), run in the same game. Learning to accept others just as they are is not easy. Sometimes we see others do to themselves what we perceive to be totally
