Do Many Foreigners See the US as a Corrupt Consumption Empire?

Of course, foreigners see the US as corrupt. It is corrupt.

I am amused by some of the articles by people who say they are Americans who live or have lived in other countries. I am an international person who has lived approximately 23 years in Europe, 23 years in Latin America and 23 years in the U.S.A.

There are other corrupt countries in the world. The USA is not the most corrupt country in the world. My knowledge is not universal, but the most corrupt country which I have experienced personally is Honduras. The USA had a hand in that corruption.

The most common assumption among foreigners is that Americans are simply dumb. How do you say monolingual in Esperanto? American. In my country of choice, Switzerland; at least people above the level of herder, speak two, three, four or more languages. They typically read. They typically can converse intelligently.

In much of the world, Americans are seen as dumb and naive. This is an accurate assessment in most cases. In what other country could George Bush or Dick Cheney have been elected to public office? Indeed, were they really elected in the USA?

Corrupt individuals prey on dumb and naive people. The USA education system is miserable. Americans are not well educated. They have difficulties in making intelligent decisions. The USA politicians and corrupt business people are happy with this situation.

What better example is there than Mr. Madoff? His clients were supposedly well instructed, well educated and well informed. What more can I say? Stupid Americans.

I am an insect eating, bleeding heart, European, university freak and socialist. Were it my choice, I would sever Madoff's head, place it on the point of a pike and embed it at the entrance of the New York Stock Exchange.

Where are the supposed macho Americans with their guns and bravado?

They are being screwed up and down by horribly corrupt operators. Many of the bailed out banks are now going to pay their corrupt executives enormous bonuses.

Are Americans asleep? Don't they care? No, it seems to me that they are just stupid. Americans have been lulled to sleep by their own excesses and the failings of the system.

American kids (and adults) have difficulty reading. They have difficulty comprehending anything not related to superficial emotions; they know nothing of arithmetic, mathematics, science, geography or anything else.

Everything involves instant gratification and superficial examination.

God help the United States of America.
