Two out of three people in America are overweight. More than half of those overweight are categorized as obese and at risk of health-related illnesses. If you asked any of those overweight people if they have ever tried a diet, they will most undoubtedly say, YES! So why are there so many overweight people in our country? Maybe, people are missing the point? Everyone is looking for the best ways to diet, but they are approaching it all wrong. It's not about the pills, latest fad diet, or even starvation. It's about the lifestyle! It's time to get back to the dieting basics: how to diet and be healthy.
First of all, you have to ask yourself, Why should I start dieting? There are many different kinds of dieters out there. Some may be dieting to thwart an illness; some may feel unattractive; some may be dieting before an event, while others simply want to fit into a bathing suit for the summer. Whichever applies to you, the key is to be serious!
Once you have decided why you should start dieting, devise a plan that's realistic. Don't cut out all foods you enjoy, you may make yourself a prisoner of your own diet plan and fail. Also, ask yourself, How long should I diet? If you think of your diet as a diet then it will seem like more of a short-term solution. It should be a LIFESTYLE! This is when the whole diet plan becomes crucial in your dieting success.
The best diet strategy is one with balance. Use the food pyramid for a balanced diet while exercising above your target heart rate for 20-30 minutes every day. One misunderstanding with many dieters is that a diet with little food and more exercise is a more effective diet plan. This is a common misconception.
Your body needs food to metabolize into energy. Without this metabolic energy, weight loss is not possible. Some foods that assist the body in boosting metabolism include, asparagus (or vegetables rich in Chlorophyll), whole grains, pomegranates, and green tea. Work these foods into your diet plan, and you will be on your way to success!
If you implement all of these diet tips and form your own plan, you will be on your way to success. Diets do not require deprivation at all! They require structure and commitment. The best way to get that structure is to use a plan or system that works. The best system that I have found can be found here.
