If you're a little bored or simply not thrilled with what you see in the mirror after taking the time to create what you used to think was a "flawless" look, then there are simple solutions for creating a fresh, new look that keeps you up with the latest trends without going overboard. The thing to remember about makeup is that it is supposed to be fun. Its a great way to express yourself and tap into your creative abilities at the same time. There are some old reliables that aren't always necessary anymore that we can do away with to make things easier, and there are some newer things we can try to brighten and soften our look.
The first thing that you should do when trying to update your look is to gather what you have and determine whether or not is still necessary or in good enough shape to keep. Then, visit some makeup blogs and YouTube to see what the "ladies in the know" are experimenting and reviewing right now. For instance, you may find on Youtube, that many ladies are only lining the bottom lid for very specific looks or with an eyeshadow in a complimentary color rather than a traditional black pencil. This is right on trend and a very easy way to use what you already have in your makeup kit to update your look.
Another "its-about-time" trend thats really easy to find right now, are eyeshadow palettes that compliment the eye color. They can be found at retailers like Sephora, beauty.com, and Stila has fantastic talking palettes that guide you through the process of application with the press of a button. This leads me into another trend. Palettes are a great way to get bang for the buck if you're looking for a way to bring attention to they eye, and not have to break the bank of individual eyeshadow colors.
Highlighting and contouring the face is another fantastic trend that you can use to bring light to the eye and cheekbone for a fresh, young look. For the eye, remember to keep a pearly, iridescent shadow around for the inner corner of the eye (feel free to sweep a little under the inner third of the bottom lid as well), and the area just under the arch of the brow. For the face, lighter skin tones will want to go with either a bronzer or a pearly, iridescent highlight. Darker tones can also use a shimmery (not glittery) bronzer or a more gold or bronze toned highlight product. Apply the product lightly at the top of the cheekbone area, then apply a natural pink or peachy toned blush to the mid to lower cheekbone and sweep upward. make sure
