The most desirable things in life are either fattening or married to someone else. Unfortunately, for so many of us, how true! I believe some sweetoholic came up with that quotation. Many of us are hopelessly in love with sugar as it is an ultimate temptation. Honey glazed pancakes, creamy soft desserts, sugar frosted delectables, mouthwatering sweets and candies and last but not the least those sweet smooth and sexy chocolates, who can resist such pleasures. But the question remains, what benefit do we get out of indulging in such wanton pleasures? It is heartbreaking but the truth is none whatsoever, this fetish/habit usually has a lot of negative effect on our health.

A million dollar question is how to resist this ever engulfing craving for sugar, it satisfies yet it is harmful. A lot of us are in a constant state of war with our sugar loving selves. Here are some tips to help one win this war/battle.

Mentally accept that you have a problem and you are ready to combat it with your will.

Make smart choices, this means that your fridge should have an ample variety of fresh fruits available or any other kind of natural sugars such as Honey. Whenever the craving hits you just fill yourself up with fruit. You can have fruit in different forms in order to tempt yourself. Make yourself a real tempting bowl of fruit salad, or maybe you can have a fruit smoothie with low fat yogurt without any added sugar ofcourse. You can also make a sort of fruit punch with a lot of fresh fruit juice with real fruit chunks in it to fill yourself up.

Always keep fruit juices that do not have added sugar in them, they satisfy your thirst, sugar craving and are also a boost to one's energy level.

It is not advisable to have long gaps between meals, increase your meals to 5to 6 meals per day but keep the portions small. Try eating high fiber filling food items so that you do not have those sudden low glucose level situations where one is tempted to gobble up a big bar of candy. Usually when your sugar /glucose level falls you tend to hog on to anything sweet, therefore try to eat small meals frequently to keep your energy and sugar levels stable

If you are one of those people who cannot get the image of a cheese cake peacefully resting in the fridge out of your mind then simply don't keep anything like that in the fridge. For many of us night time is the most vulnerable, lying in bed one cannot shun the picture of that creamy cheese cake. If you find yourself
