Pondering how much time it takes to write an online article is like asking someone, "How long is a piece of string?" The answer will depend upon many variable factors. It will be directly related to the required or suggested length of the article, the writer's knowledge upon their subject and the amount of research they are required to do, the speed at which the writer can type and the amount of free time the writer has to devote to the production of their article.
The vast majority of online writing sites which permit writers to write articles now have a minimum word count as to the length each article should be. This is something which will vary from site to site and even depend upon the subject matter but it is rarely less than two hundred and fifty words. This does not sound like a lot but writers who like to put a lot of thought and effort in to their articles - or are required to do so due to their writing ability - can take some amount of time to create an article of this length with which they are happy enough to publish.
Writing online articles is best achieved by a writer writing upon a subject with which they are particularly familiar. This is not always possible, however, as a writer may be keen to write upon a particular subject of which they have little knowledge, or simply be required to do so through commitment. Should either of these instances be the case, the writer will be required to conduct research in to the subject nature of their article and consequently this will add significantly to the length of time it takes them to write the article.
The speed at which a writer can type may not have quite such a bearing upon the time it takes to write an online article but it will have a very definite effect upon it. There are writers who can type dozens of words per minute and writers whose two fingers plod diligently over the keyboard in an effort to create their finished piece, often hitting the delete button more than any other key!
The amount of free time which a writer has to devote to the writing of their articles will also impact upon how long it takes them to do so. The longer the finished article is likely to be, the greater impact this factor will have on the length of time it takes the writer to create.
How much time it takes to write an online article should be summed up by every writer as simply however long it takes to produce an article with which they are happy, which they are satisfied that they have written to the best of their abilities and which they believe can do them and their reputation most justice when published.
