Life and circumstances are connected by circles. Watch nature and you'll realize that the year moves in a circle. Mother Earth's dawning is the coming of the spring. Along with her waking, she brings forth new life. The soil breaks an allows new plants into their infancy. Animals give birth and introduces their babies to the awaking Mother Earth. There is a freshness to the world, bringing hope and comfort to all of the living creatures. The first song of the birds in the spring are the sweetest and the small animals break their burrows and explore for food. Spring is the time for Mother's and the Creator's best work.
Summer is Mother's morning. It is a time for flourishing. the leaves become full and rich. The babies born during spring become strong and graceful. Flowers are in full bloom and the world we live in is inviting and exciting. Evenings bring a slower pace to the day, with whispered voices of all of the Creator's creatures riding on the gentle breezes-Mother's sighs of peace and contentment.
Mother's afternoon brings in cooler breezes while the sun stays warm. It is a time for winding down and Mother starts to make her autumn attire. Shades of orange, red and yellow start to adorn the trees. Flowers fall away and turn to seed, making ready for their long night's sleep. Vesper light becomes longer before the night places it's shadow over us. Night claims it's place and slowly becomes longer and cooler. Mother is preparing her children for a time of rest; the world starts to slow it's pace.
Soon, Mother's day is coming to a close and all of creation takes it's nights rest. The animals are settled into their winter's home and the seedlings are shrouded in Mother's cloak. Quiet holds the earth and all of creation sleeps beneath the stillness of a crystal sky. Snow falls and blankets all of creation, tucking Mother's children in and protecting them until the dawning of a new day. Mother exhales winter's breath and waits for night's end. Her heart song is waiting and watching for the beginning of a new dawn, but for now she to, must take her rest.
Mother Earth and the seasons are the greatest teacher of life. She gives us what is natural and needed to survive. We get our water, food, materials for shelters, medicines and sheer enjoyment from her. The circle of life is one of her greatest lessons and she has the opportunity to teach it to us every year. One year in our life is one day for Mother Earth.
