It is time for family vacation and you want to see it all. Look no further than North Carolina. This state has so many wonderful vacation spots. Not to mention it is the home to quite a few military bases throughout the state.
If you are a beach person there are quite a few options here. If you just want strictly beach time, and some nice dining with the family then Surf City and Topsail Island are your best spots. It is a family beach, and is a nice little heaven on earth. If you want to do more exclusive shopping, but still beach it up, and have access to town for entertainment, then Wrightsville beach is for you. It is right there at Wilmington, and there is so much for you to do. If you still want some beach, but a little culture and history then the outer banks is your place. That is where the lighthouses are, and the first flight took place there. I have been to all of these places and they are all wonderful in their own right.
Not everyone is a beach person, so there are wonderful places to go to in the mountains. There is Boone North Carolina. You can go to the Tweetsie Railroad, Blowing Rock, and some other places. The mountains is especially a great spot to venture out to in the fall. The leaves are turning colors and it gives you a nice appreciation for nature. The food is so delicious too. If you love camping and hiking and want to be one with nature that is where you need to go.
North Carolina has beaches and mountains, but it has so many other things. If you venture out to Charlotte, there is Carowinds. It is a King's Dominion amusement park. So if your idea of adventure is roller coasters, rides, and some shows then you will have a blast there. If you like history and want to get a piece of that then go to Wilmington, to the USS Battleship, and go downtown and get history tours on a horse and buggy. Then to top off your evening book a three hour cruise on the Henrietta get dinner, dancing, and a tour on the water's view of things. North Carolina also has some zoos, a few museums, and lots of shopping. If you want it all this is your ultimate vacation destination.
