It's a stale-mate situation, though I wish for compromise,
And no matter what solution I propose you don't accept,
That the problem is exaggerated, taken out of size,
Because you haven't got the sense to recognize inept.
It's a stale-mate situation, where no-one really wins,
There's no victory, no satisfaction, just a deep regret,
And as we stand here firm in views, not changing in our skins,
It makes me feel a deep regret for that first time we met.
When both of us tried winning, but we didn't go together,
And in doing so have reached a stale-mate neither can undo,
It ties our lives in knots until those little strands do tether,
and restrict us in the freedom of just being me and you.

Poetry: Stalemate
It's a stale-mate situation, though I wish for compromise,
And no matter what solution I propose you don't accept,
That the
Crisp air hangs, first lights dew
Creeping frost teases delight
Under blankets of vivid blue.
Powdered greens awake from
Stalemate
Or cellmate?
Keeper of the fire
Or killer of the flame?
This ice maiden
Cannot melt
And make the first move
