Big blue eyes filling with tears,
A single teardrop for each of his fears.
Tiny fingers curled up tight
As he stands alone in his cot at night.
An innocent mind, unpolluted so far,
By the evils of man and the way that we are.
The smallest little ears just listening out,
For the opening door and the screams and the shouts.
A scruffy old teddy bear, held close to his heart,
Is his only companion, but it's falling apart.
This brave little soldier, abandoned, alone,
Knows there's no point in crying, 'cause nobody's home.
