Single hood is something that is within the means of a person. You may decide to remain single without marrying. You may end up in a divorce. Being widowed is something that is not within our control. However, to remain single or not is entirely up to each and individual human being. Single hood can be a source of relief for those who had been in a bad relationship. It could bring solace to those who were constantly neglected or abused. However, no matter how much you deny, there will be certain days that you would have pondered and thought how it would be to in love all over again!

Single hood comes with a lot of good and bad. Nothing new as God created everything in pairs. So he created good with bad as well. Single hood brings more time for oneself. Single hood means you can decide your daily activities without it being centered around someone or something. Single hood means you have more choices. Single hood also means less tension! However, single hood can (I am not saying it will) bring about certain things into our life that we need to deal with as well.

Being single means to be independent, financially. The financial support is not there and you will need to manage your accounts and be careful of the cash flow in order to avoid getting into debts. Although this means that you can decide what to spend on, you do not have the support should your cash flow dries up or is disrupted. You need to be vigilant and well planned in order for you to move on in life.

Being single brings about health related problems, be it physical problem or mental problem. If you are a female and are not married or do not have kids, you are at a higher risk of developing breast cancer, for example. Also, being alone, for many, can lead to depression. The lack of the feeling of being loved will haunt some people that it could be dangerous. You can start feeling more jealous or anxious when you are around happily married couples. This could affect your friendships and social relationships. Human beings are meant to be social people. Unless you are around so many people who believe in single hood, you are bound to be lonely. And loneliness can kill!

Social stigma is another risk of being single. The perception of how you lead your life by the society at large may not matter to some. However, it would matter a great deal for many others. Unless you are mentally sound and strong, you will find the constant haunting by the society hard to live with.

Single-hood. To adopt or not, is the matter of each individual and should be taken with your consideration for ultimate goal in life. That should be peace, happiness and longevity.
