Walking one early morn
Captivated by the sea
beaming with life newly born
lost in aqua-green.
Silenced by the magnitude
of her length and width.
Astounded by her fortitude
Her contradictions forthwith
Eyes drifting upward
Amazed by the beauty of the sun,
peeking up to say good morning
Feeling lucky to be the one
Nestled on the beach,
Pants rolled over knees,
Feeling the earth's oven
Turning up by degrees.
Neptune playing with the sun
Capturing my blue eyes
A light trail leading somewhere
good, I surmised.
Meandering with purpose
Following the orange path,
Waves swaying rhythmically
Dancing on false glass.
Are these the paths
that sailors once used,
to find their way home
when taunted and abused?
The sun was welcoming
and said "go behind"
The excitement was building
Love and awe entwined
Stepping behind
the solar curtain at last
Embracing the moment
Serentity surpassed
Seagulls interrupting
the flow by their sound.
Returning to existence
sorrowed; glancing round
I stand,
brush the sand
back to its home,
Gathering
my belongings
I walk
alone.

The sea my only lover.
Across the waves,
Lies the body of the other.

~ Alone on the Beach ~
Sand between the toes…
a zillion diamonds sparkling as far as the eye can behold,
dancing
Walking alone on the shore on a warm summer’s day
The soles of my feet feel as though they are burning as they connect
