Choosing the perfect accomodations during the Indianapolis 500 depends in part on how much you can afford to spend. Since hotels range in prices from low-budget "no frills" motels to high-end hotels loaded with amenities, you will have a wide variety to choose from. It is important to develop a budget and then to stay within that budget.

This article will highlight three hotels which the author believes are some of the best options in Indianapolis. One hotel from each budget range (low, medium and high) will be selected in order to provide you with information to a quality hotel that will be within your budget.

Comfort Suites City Centre

On the high-end of the spectrum is the Comfort Suites City Centre hotel located in downtown Indianapolis. This hotel has designed packages specifically for the race fan visiting the area for the Indy 500. There are two packages to choose from: the 3 night standard package and the 3 night full race package.

The standard package, priced around $350 per night, includes a large guest suite equipped with two beds and a pull-out sofa. It also has a kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator and coffee maker. What makes this package special are the Indy 500 specific amenities, which include round trip transportation to the the Indianapolis Motor Speedway complete with police escort and tickets to the Hall of Fame Museum and the Reserved 500 Festival Parade Ticket. The hotel will also help with your tickets to the race, which are available to you at face value.

The full race package, which is priced around $100 more per night, is similar to the standard package; however, it includes additional race specific amenities. These are: an entrance ticket to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday and a ticket that enables you to meet the drivers in the garage area. (The guest must be 18 or older to enter the garage area.)

Indianapolis Marriott East

For looking for a hotel in the middle range, the Indianapolis Marriott East is a great choice. Rooms at this hotel on East 21st Street begin at $189.00 per night.

The hotel is located close to many other attractions in addition to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, including the Indianapolis Children's Museum and the Indianapolis Zoo.

There are many standard amenities available including room service, a full-service restaurant, indoor pool and free wireless internets in the room. A full list of what amenities are available, along with photos of the rooms, is available on the Marriott website.

La Quinta Indianapolis East

La Quinta Indianapolis East is a great hotel for those looking for a lower priced hotel. Room prices begin around $104 per night. As with many other hotels in the area, room service is available and pets are allowed.

While this hotel offers only a select variety of amenities, it is a comfortable hotel with a great staff. You can view all of the amenities available on their website.
