Animals bond strongly with their humans and the longer a pet has been with that human the harder it is to let it go. This is not only hard on the human but also on the animals. An animal can feel totally abandoned once it is taken from those that it loves. There are many reasons why a person has to give their pet up but there are alternatives to surrendering your pet even in this recession.
When you took your pet you thought that it was going to be a forever happy life for both of you but as the pet grew they changed and sometimes so does the circumstances. Regardless of the reason your giving your pet up there is solutions to almost every reason that comes up. Here are some reasons and solutions to choose before surrendering your pet.
Recession
If you are thinking of giving up your pet due the recession and just can't afford to feed or care for them any longer don't be too hasty on making this decision. There are services in place that can help you with the feeding and caring of your pet. If you're pet needs veterinarian care talk to your vet and tell him your circumstances, he may have some ideas on things that could make it easier for you. A pet doesn't care if they are getting the best of food all they care about is being with you. Check around your neighborhood to see if your church or schools would be willing to be silent owners in the care of your pet. There are struggles in life and the recession is one of them but you can both make it through and come out smiling with just a little more effort and alternatives.
Moving
Moving is a common reason for surrendering a pet but it doesn't have to be. In every city you will find some housing that accepts pets. It is up to you to find that housing, you owe it to your pet to try. There are also services that will help you find a landlord that accepts pets. If there is a pet deposit at your new place it will be worth every penny to have your lifelong friend with you. Use those services before you decide to give your pet up. If you're being deployed in the military there are services that will help you with your pet. Once a pet comes into your home he is a part of the family and where the family goes then so should the pet without a doubt.
Allergies
If you become allergic to your pet there are still alternatives to surrendering him. First you should verify with your doctor that you are actually allergic to your pet. Ask your doctor if your allergies can be controlled by medication. If you are allergic to
