One of the most wonderful confirmations of God's compassion on sinners is seen in His invite recorded in Isaiah 1:18; "Come now and let's reason together says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are a red like crimson, they shall be as wool." HE acted this out when he sent his son to the earth to live among men, teach men and die on the cross of Calvary that sinners may be saved.
There is the original sin of Adam, inherited by all his descendants. There is also transgression which is the breaking of God's laws at one time or the other in man's life. When Jesus died on the cross, he paid in full, for all sins and for all time. The wages of sin is death. He knows that after people become born again, they would still sin. His payment covers the past, present and future. The sins of the unborn generations have been paid for. Else, he would have had to be coming every generation to die again for sinners. And because he paid for sins of the world once and for all time, all sins have been covered. Anyone can appropriate this payment by simply believing this ransom payment was done on their behalf.
No matter how terrible a sin appears to us, if we confess our sins John says, "HE is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1Jn1:9) God forgives, and he also promises not to remember the sins again. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west (Ps103:12). However, the word of God cannot be voided, he still says come let us reason together
But having said that, Jesus mentioned one sin that God would not forgive whether now or even in the life to come. This is recorded in Mark 3:28,29; "Assuredly , I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter. But he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation."
So what is the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? The people Jesus spoke to had just accused him of having an evil spirit. They said this so that they might have an excuse to not believe his words and to tarnish his ministry before the people and to hinder other people from believing in him.
Have you spoken against the ministry of a fellow brother or sister because of envy? If yes, then you might be in league with these people.
Have you derided a fellow believer and condemned them for using demonic power when you were not sure if they were using

God forgives no matter the sin. This is a great statement for all believers. However, God also tells us to turn from sin.
God can and will forgive no matter what the sin may be. I find several examples in the Bible to back up this statement.
