Sarah Palin utterly shocked the media by resigning as Governor of Alaska two weeks ago. While one would think, based merely on every single description, expletive, and sexual reference directed toward the governor, that the media would find reason to rejoice, they've chosen to instead regret her choice.
The unending hatred received from the leaders of both parties has been completely unfounded. Really, what about Palin keeps the media wailin'?
First, the former governor isn't the ugliest person in the world (CNN lingo for: amazingly beautiful). And to those who claim that one Hillary Clinton is just the same, may I inquire of the pantsuit? Could it be that underneath such a styled covering lies some cellulite that ain't right?
And Mrs. Clinton isn't the only liberal woman with such stunning features. Author Gwen Ifill, reporter Helen Thomas, and Senator John Kerry don't do much to lift the unfortunate Miss Leftist stereotype.
So how appropriate that the party of pantsuits and pantywaists finds an obligation to trash Sarah Palin's attractive image because their own bathroom mirrors tell much different stories.
Also, her intellect, critiqued by those with a prompter for a brain, goes greatly underestimated.
Since her resignation speech, Palin has been a regular visitor on the social networking site twitter. Now before I go on, the fact that Obama's tweets are received by the media with adoring accolades and Palin's with horrified hogwash proves, indeed, that birds of a feather flock together. (And here come the dodo birds!)
With that being said, Palin's upbeat vision for America has been brought to light in her regular tweets and most recent Washington Post article in which she offers a criticism of the Obama/Pelosi cap-and-trade legislation.
Noting the odd coincidence of liberal such-and-such policy to transform into tax policy, Palin lays waste to the idea of taxing American productivity in the name of a clean environment and a secure energy future. There is no denying that as the world becomes more industrialized, we need to reform our energy policy and become less dependent on foreign energy sources. But the answer doesn't lie in making energy scarcer and more expensive! Those who understand the issue know we can meet our energy needs and environmental challenges without destroying America's economy.
And just because Sarah Palin questions the will of the Almighty, doesn't mean she's the anti-Christ!
In hockey terms, high-sticking denotes contact between the stick and body of the opponent. Technically it's against the rules and isn't the nicest thing to do. But nonetheless, after getting continually pummeled by ice skates and goalie gloves, it's easy to see how one's stick could conceivably enter off-limits territory.
There are times when certain rules of the media, lenient to the left yet overbearing to the right, need be broken. These guidelines, established by those in the beltway, serve as skewed filters of the real world, through which is delivered to all Americans: pure propaganda.
While, personally, there's nothing there to high-stick, the media's agenda, for a time, lay vulnerable and unchallenged by anyone brave enough to fight back. That is, until Sarah Palin broke the mold and left their way of business, like an Obama teleprompter, in shattered pieces on the ground.
