The Christmas season would be incomplete without the slew of Christmas songs there are today. Whether it a song you sing in church (or school), carols that are sung door to door, or the ones sung by a fire on Christmas Eve with family; there are many Christmas tunes that could be named most memorable. Those songs that are most memorable are the ones that make the most impressions on you from the first time you hear them.

The songs that are most memorable to me were the ones I either heard or sung while I was in choir for six years. Every year around the holiday, we would either have a concert or some kind of show embracing the holiday and singing songs to get in spirit of Christmas.

One of the most memorable Christmas songs to me is from the Messiah called the Hallelujah Chorus. I am sure that most out there are familiar with at least the chorus, if not the whole song. Who could forget, "Hallelujah...Hallelujah....Hallelujah"? The tune to the song is fun, and the song has an uplifting message of the true meaning of Christmas. The Messiah does have a lot of amazing songs, which could include: For unto Us a Child Is Born, and Surely He Hath Borne Our Griefs; but the Hallelujah Chorus will always be the most memorable to me.

Then there is the song called Betelehemu. What is that, you ask? Betelehemu is a Nigerian Christmas tune. The title itself means Bethlehem, and hopefully we all know what this place is known for. When the rest of the song is translated, it is about how wonderful the lord is, and praising him in all his glory.

Another memorable Christmas song is called Christmas Shoes. If you have ever heard it, you would probably understand why I chose this song for the list. Christmas Shoes is one of those songs that will bring tears to your eyes. The song has such a sad story behind its lyrics. Christmas Shoes changes perspective after hearing it because it vividly shows what the holiday is all about. The holiday is not all about gifts like it has become in the past few decades. Christmas is about love, family, and the lord.

Of course you cannot forget all the famous carols like Joy to the World, Deck the Halls, Away in A Manger, The First Noel, Silent Night, What Child Is This, and Jingle Bells. They are timeless classics that can never be forgotten.
