Poetry: Mother Nature

by Mia Marks

POSSIBILITIES UNBOUND

The wind tugs at the leaves as though anxious to be on its way.

The trees start to shake and quiver, and the limbs begin to sway.

A dried old leaf gives up its fight to hold to its bark covered branch.

It's seen so many things pass by, things that would entrance.

Drifting past a nest of young robins, their parents sitting nearby.

Soon their training will be complete, then they can take to the sky.

A tiny bush mouse sits quietly there, its bright little eyes searching.

It's spotted a beetle struggling by, not much longer will it continue its lurching.

A baby deer watches the falling leaf, as it ends its fall to the ground.

The beautiful world of mother nature, its possibilities unbound.
