Poetry: Your life has just begun

SPRING SONNET

The spring is here, and all that lives has breath,

A cleansing of the earth and heavens through.

The winter days have vanished what then grew,

And all but new has now been lead to death.

A blue jay's singing on the window sill.

The cat outside meanders underneath,

and spreads a vicious smirk with all his teeth.

The bird, still unaware, sings sweetly still.

My stomach broadens slowly day by day.

I worry, for a mother I will be,

With hope that I can do this worthily,

I feel my baby grow a hastened way.

A moment comes when each life must be strong,

Where things that are be placed where they belong.
