Short stories: Falling in love under fireworks

It was finally time. I have been dreading this trip all year. 2 weeks spent at some hick town in West Virginia. I don't even know the name, nor do I care. My family must be crazy to plan a family reunion trip here. After all, it took me 6 hours to get to this boring place. I looked down at my map. Well, it can't be that hard to find the hotel. It's obviously the only thing in this town. I drove up to the next four way stop and took a right. And there it was. It was more of a motel or a big cabin. It was old...very old. My parents, Aunt Cindy, and my cousin, Jamie, were already standing around the porch. My mom and Aunt Cindy were sitting in two large rocking chairs.

"Hey guys" I said with absolutely no enthusiasm as I stepped out of my car.

"Hannah, you made it!" Mom exclaimed as she came over and gave me a big hug. Everyone had huge smiles on their faces as if they were about to walk into Disney World. Although in fact we were somewhere that is quite opposite. Jamie was the next to give me a hug. She is 10 years old and 10 years younger than me. She was starting to become not-so-cute anymore, and really turning obnoxious.

"The others are inside" Aunt Cindy proclaimed from her big rocking chair. There wasn't a chance she would get up for another few hours. I walked inside the "lobby" (if you could call it that) to check in. There was a big crowd in the lobby. In fact, every single one of them was a member of my family. They too greeted me. I finally made it to the front counter. Standing behind it was a sight that was quite refreshing. The man had thick brown hair that wasn't too short or two long. In contrast to the town, he was actually normally dressed. He was tall and wearing a maroon colored shirt that seemed to lay on his body so perfectly I could see the outline of his chest and stomach. And his arms that were big and tan. Wow, he looked good. He looked up at me as I walked towards the counter and smiled. (What a gorgeous smile!)

"Hi...um I am with this big group here. So um I need to check in and get a room key" I managed to spill out.

"Sure, no problem" He said with an amazing and deep voice. "What is your name?"

"Hannah Wren"

"Ok...so you are staying in room number 6 with Jamie Marsh."

"Yeah." Of course, I have to stay with my annoying cousin. He handed me the key. "Thanks" I said. He flashed me another one of those amazing smiles. It was all I could do to make myself walk away. Well, that made my day slightly better.

I walked back outside
