I left my body among a bed of reeds,
cells purged in salt and sand.
Buried among the tide, salvation in water,
a stone beset to hold the weight.
I will float eternally among sedimentary ruin,
My swollen chest sinking between the waves . . .
Air passes in fathoms like a drought, leaving me forever
I remember playing in this ocean as a child,
since deluded and lost I have become.
Plagued to return here, I am carried across an empire of salt
The last light I ever see dances between the particles of water,
salvation has become comforting amongst the tightening pain.
I lose all senses, pray to end samsaras grasp.
This is the last time I ever witness the setting of the sun.
I am water.

I walked in the valley of my life, afraid and unsure,
As gray skies covered me from direction to direction,
And black mountains
