Yes, it's true, there are health benefits in having sex! So; next time your wife tries to deny you sexual pleasure; you will be equipped with the information to floor her (or bed her, if you please) because having sex has benefits for your mental and physical health.
Before I go any further in discussing the health benefits of sex; I would like to add one important fact. I am in no way promoting having sex with many partners, unprotected sex, or other such things. I believe in monogamy and sex being a connection between two intimate people (in a relationship). Being immature in sexual relations may cause more damage than benefits if you wind up with a sexually transmitted disease, etc. Therefore; the list created is for those who have one partner whom they are devoted to and would enjoy a reason to indulge themselves a little more often.
Firstly, let's go over the obvious health benefits of having sex. The first two benefits of sex are mentioned often and are extremely beneficial for mental and physical reasons; sex relieves stress and boosts self-esteem. While boosting self-esteem may appear to you to have limited side effects; combined with the relieving of stress it is an unbeatable combination. Relieving stress also helps to create for easier management of daily activities and better sleep. All from sex!
Has your wife ever denied you sex because "she had a headache"? If she has, be prepared to fight against this comment the next time that you are in the mood. It has been shown that sex relieves pain; and that includes pain from head aches, arthritis and PMS. When having sex your body releases endorphins (happy hormones) which help to relieve pain.
There are many other smaller benefits in having sex, as well as some larger things as well. Having sex on a regular (and frequent) basis helps to reduce the risk of prostate cancer (due to frequent ejaculations). Sex also helps to release hormones that help to improve the immune system. As for smaller benefits; sex burns calories (close to the same amount of calories as weight training for a half-hour), and it increases blood flow which improves circulation and helps in regards to cardiovascular health as well.
While many know and hopefully often feel the immediate physical and emotional enjoyments of sex however now you are educated on the many health benefits of sex as well. It is beneficial to share in a sexual experience at least twice a week.
