Grapevine
Got to say the words
before they die,
that tangled web of ideas
struggling though summer's day.
Got to say the words
before they sour
and forget their meaning
and before I forget a part of my life.
Got to say the words
as light eases into shades of gray
when the sun passes.
Got to find the passage
to capture a moment
in its time.
