Each morning i wake up
to the blaring sounds of my alarm clock
children running up and down the stairs
feeling like I'm under so many mean glares
This isn't how it's supposed to feel
this isn't what life is really about
I'm simply alive

like a zombie
fulfilling my assigned tasks
were is the joy i once sought?
has everyone really forgot?
I'm simply alive
nothing more
unless i start to strive
I'll always be pounding on a locked door
i know there's something more
for now I'm simply alive
