Poetry: True love

by Author Name Withheld 218

The first time I met you
Could not have been the first time I've known you
Being in your presence brought back a familiar feeling
Something spiritual
You are an old acquaintance that re-entered my life
But why, who are you?
Do you need me or do I need you?
Ever since I met you I've felt a sense of comfort
We may not always be together
But when we are together
It's as if we've never parted
My theory-our angels must be in love
Something heavenly is involved in this love affair
For whenever we try to separate
We're always put in a situation where we see each other
Or need each other
For one reason or another
I'm not one to argue with fate
So until our angels decide to part
You, my love, will remain in my heart
