There is nothing more special than receiving a personalized gift basket. The recipient knows that the giver has put some time and thought into the gift, thus making it even more appreciated. Take the time to consider the couple you are planning on giving a gift to, for their anniversary.

The basket should also reflect on them, or compliment its contents. The basket does not have to conform to the traditional sense of the word. Think in terms of the anniversary couple's interests. A great gift is one that perhaps makes you think outside the traditional or ordinary. Below is a list of ideas that would be sure to delight anyone.

Avid Readers Anniversary basket

If the anniversary couple enjoys reading, select a small book basket or standing magazine rack. If you know the couple well, you will know what type of books they enjoy reading. Buy a book written by each of their favorite authors to include in the basket.

While you are at the book store, check around for small reading lights that attach to the book. Many people enjoy these and its one of those things they never think to by for themselves. Bookstores also have cute bookmarks. Look for one that reflects the couple's taste, or even one with a love poem on it.

The best way to enjoy a good book is to have a snuggly blanket to wrap up in. Purchase a couple of small fleece blankets to go into the basket. Get the blankets in matching colors or choose the couple's individual favorite colors, if you know them.

The last thing your basket will need is something special to drink while the couple enjoys their books. What does the couple prefer? If they are avid coffee drinkers, select an exotic, or romantic sounding specialty brand. Choose something they would enjoy but may not necessarily indulge in purchasing for them self.

If the couple prefers wine, chose their favorite kind or spice it up a bit with a slightly more expensive bottle. Don't forget to get a couple of delicate long stemmed wine glasses to go with it.

Arrange all of your purchases in the magazine rack and add twists of colorful tissue paper here and there. You can also add sprigs of silk flowers to the book basket if you like. Place a big bow of coordinating colors on the handle and you are ready to delight and thrill your avid book reading anniversary couple!
