The Church of Satan

potential to express themselves in whatever way they see fit. Not only that, said members (also more numerous than in any other group) work with each other for further productivity.

Finally, there is one thing that the Church of Satan promotes that no other group does; the one thing that distinguishes the Church of Satan from the ream of impotent pretenders that claim heir:

Satanic philosophy.

While this may sound like a given, there is only one group that promotes the ideas and texts of Satanism. Other groups espouse all sorts of differing agendas, most with little or nothing to do with Satanism. These are then mixed with the words of Anton LaVey to make them seem Satanic, despite the author having no real knowledge or understanding of what the religion is about, amply proven by said readings being taken out of context or with the delimiters removed and/or ignored. You should be neither impressed nor surprised with this especially bearing in mind the vested interest people have in the approval of others. And when I describe Satanic philosophy, I'm describing the works of Anton LaVey and his Church of Satan contemporaries. This is not merely because they're the best. It's because they're the only texts on Satanism that exist. While a clamour of people will want to point out countless other examples to me, they are invited to first consider the following:

1) Are such texts still in print and/or large circulation?

2) Are they about the life loving promotion of Satanism as a religion (or simply a negative reaction to Christianity)?

3) Were they written by someone considered a Satanist?

If the answer to any of these questions is "no", then you can discount them as texts on the subject of Satanism. Funnily enough, only the texts produced by the late Anton LaVey and the Church of Satan stand up to this scrutiny. Again, anyone thinking differently is free to correct me they are, however, reminded to deal with the questions above in every example. These questions are hardly exhaustive criteria, but they will commit most books on the topic to the flames they deserve.

It's often asked what the Church of Satan actually is, considering our founder called it a group for "non-joiners". He also answered this question himself in "Satan Speaks!", when he said that the Church of Satan was a "generator of existing energy". This isn't a cryptic message; as it turns out, it's markedly simple. The Church of Satan is for people who wish to affiliate and work together for a Satanic purpose.
