Being a male citizen, I strongly feel that in the case of abortion, the father should have a say in the matter. I personally don't support abortion because it's taking the life of an innocent unborn child.
The whole, accidental pregnancy excuse is complete garbage, except in the case if a woman is raped (which I still wouldn't accept abortion), because two people just don't accidently get intimate with each other. If something happens to go wrong during the intercourse, it just goes wrong. There's nothing you could do to prevent it from happening. I can't see any situation where abortion would ever be an option.
I grew up with two brothers while my mother worked incredibly hard to support us and kept us in a nice place. If she (as a single parent at that time) was able to support us while barely having any money, then there is no excuse for abortion.
I feel that it is important for the father to have a say in the matter because it might take one person to give birth to a child, it takes two people to create child. Abortion is nothing more than a coward's way out of a situation and proves that the person in the situation would be an incredibly bad parent.
Another reason I say the father should have a say in the matter is because some men actually have dreams of raising successful families. I personally would never even think of such a cruel fate to an unborn child. To sit there and just take away what they helped create is not only wrong, it would be dirty. And if a man decides it is a good to have an abortion, then he is a poor excuse of a human being.
Men today are still expected to be looked upon as the provider and source of income. The child came as a result of two people getting together and getting work done. The child didn't do anything wrong, I mean it's lifeless. Why take the life away from an innocent being. In conclusion, I feel that fathers should have a say in the matter if abortion is the right choice. I wouldn't kill an unborn child because I couldn't have that on my conscious for the rest of my life. I personally feel that even thinking of it is just pitiful and anybody that decides that abortion should be used is sad.
