A Collage of Golden Moments
A splash of sunrise
floating on the lake is
a dollop of whipped cream joy
on the quiet pudding

singing gently, lightly
in a whimsical spirit,
a drummer's staccato
plays back up to the melody
allegro and crescendo,
a counter point and chorus.
As the chimes curl in and out
of the percusser's refrain,
his laughter cymbals the close,
surprising the sunlight
spilling through the trees
in butterfly streamers,
shadow dancing lightly
on the breakfast table.
