God is there, I know not where
But I am sure He lives
He's with me in my darkest hours
He loves and He forgives
I've cursed his name, denied His life
Blamed him for all of my life's strife
While others thanked him for their grace
I called them naive to their face
I saw a rainbow in the sky
And watched a fledgling eagle fly
I welcomed spring and blooming trees
Yet never thought God part of these
Yet still I thought He has to be
But where remained a mystery
And then one day I needed him
Confessing to a grievous sin
I asked this unseen God in prayer
To let me know that He was there
He stepped into my life that hour
And showed me his almighty power
God is there, and now I'm sure
His love is everlasting, pure
I found what I was searching for
There are no mysteries anymore.

There's an old man, that sits in a chair
he has a long white beard and not much hair
He carries a stick, and he wields it
God is everything, including the good in you and me.
Before the trees produced fruits and the birds began to sing,
God toiled
