The way my husband and I chose the right season for our wedding was by deciding together which season we both loved. We're both very in to camping, hiking, and white water rafting, so summer time just made perfect sense. We had a small outdoor wedding in the warm evening sun, and then for our honeymoon, we naturally went camping. This was a great way to save money, as well as get away from the crowds that would be found at resorts.
For your own wedding, sit down with your soon-to-be spouse, and talk. If you have trouble agreeing, or have trouble finding a time where important guests could make it, go through a process of elimination. What season do you definitely NOT want to be married in? What season is the busiest for family and friends? What season are you both really strapped for cash in? Once you've decided when NOT to get married, you can come to a decision of when TO get married easier.
Also, use things that you have in common to help you decide. For instance, if you're both snow bunnies who love the mountains and love skiing, maybe a winter wedding where the guests ride up the mountain in a gondola would be right for you. Or perhaps, if you fell in love in the spring time, having a spring wedding would be a romantic reminder for you both. If you both love the rich, vibrant colors of autumn, maybe that's the best time, when the leaves are fluttering down in the gentle breeze painting a romantice scene in the air.
The important thing is not to let anyone tell you when or where to get married. Let it be between you and your partner. Remember, it's YOUR wedding, and it should be special for YOU and the person you fell in love with.
