Returning to an ex repeatedly: Karma or weakness?

Karma is a concept dating back to 800 BC attached to the concept of reincarnation. It establishes the system we live in as one where all our actions and subsequent reactions are accountable respectively. Much like in accounting, actions seen as bad will produce a negative effect on your life -loss- just as actions seen as good will produce a positive effect - profit. Attached to whole religions like Buddhism or Hinduism this concept eventually leads to salvation or ascension, that is when you are rich enough or in other words have enough profit, meaning have done enough good deeds.

Karma is produced in four ways: our thoughts, words, actions we perform or have performed. There is also the belief among Hindus that karma is of three types:

Sanchita which is accumulated karma from what you did in your previous lives. Prarabdha which is the part of the accumulated karma being used to shape your present destiny, and Kriyamana which is everything you do in this life that will go to Sanchita to shape your future.

Added to karma, one should also consider the role of divine forces which are said to play a role in the shaping of our destiny. Unlike Buddhists, most Hindus see karma as dependent of divine forces. Just as they believe that nothing happens without reason, they also believe that every occurrence is fair and sufferance does not happen without reason. In the latter case, one may consider sufferance as not only a harmful reaction of a harmful action, but also as an opportunity to learn something: perhaps just a lesson from a mistake, or a revelation of pain and suffering of others due to one's actions. This consequently can help making us a better person.

Consequently, returning to an ex repeatedly may be the opportunity to correct something meant to happen, to act so as to reshape your future or even to forgive and understand your once dear one. To decide which is the case however cannot be easily decided. Throughout the ages, people have referred to seers, priests or other enlightened persons for advice. These rare individuals would be those having a higher level of profit - using our previous analogy - and hence nearer to ascension. Such a state of being allows them to be sensible to the variations and fluctuations of the karma.

Nowadays, most of them are known as psychics and usually offer many individual services upon consultation.

From records in psychology, the need to return to some situation again and again shows the unconscious feeling
