Is this seriously a question? In every way, I think makeup for men is a huge mistake. Men are fortunate to be accepted as they are; they are extremely handsome au natural. So, I think it would be ridiculous to ruin something that already works. I have never met a man and thought, "Wow, he would be really great if he evened out his blotchy skin tone and lined his eyes." I understand that acne can be difficult, but let's face it acne is visible with or without makeup. Makeup just clogs our pores more. Today they make amazing lotions, moisturizers, facemasks, washes, acne cream, etc. Tinted moisturizers are also wonderful for your face because they can give a little color to add life to one's face. Thus, makeup is still not necessary for men. If they need a little pick-me-up, tinted moisturizer should be enough.
What is wrong with our world that we are moving further and further away from accepting ourselves? Women already lost the battle of feeling good au natural (let's face it wearing makeup is an essential element of being a woman-according to today's society), but men do not need to lose that battle. It is a battle worth fighting for, and I hope it is a battle they can win. Otherwise, we will be teaching all of our children that we are not good enough as we are; everything that is natural about us will need to be altered in order to be accepted. What a terrible message to send to our youth.
I have no idea why a man would want to create more work for himself in the morning or when getting ready to go out? Isn't half the joy of being a man the lack of preparation it takes to do anything. Men can shower, get dressed, brew coffee and be out the door in twenty to thirty minutes. If makeup becomes expected from them, this quickness in getting ready is certainly going to be lost. I never understand people who willingly take things on that simply create more work than is needed and reaps no reward. A man is already considered attractive without makeup, so makeup is not going to reap any extra benefits. They have already caught the eye of women-and some other men.
Men seem to pay less attention to detail than women, so wouldn't they walk into the world with foundation that is not blended entirely or eye liner that is smudged? Men wearing makeup sounds like trying to fit something that is square into a round hole. It just doesn't make sense. How strange would it be to see men walking around with makeup?
Makeup for men-what a terrible idea!
