TITUBA'S SONG
You took my mother's freedom
And her virginity.
You took my father's freedom
But not his spirit.
You took my mother's life
Because she defended herself.
You sold my father
To punish him.
You took everything from me:
My mother, my father, my freedom.
I took my unborn child's life
Just so he wouldn't suffer.
You accused me of
Working with your devil.
You kept me locked up
When I was innocent.
Because of you
I lost everyone I loved:
My parents, Mama Yayom, Little Betty,
Elizabeth, and all the men I ever loved
With all my womanhood.
And finally, you took my life.
