Poetry: Video games

by Joe Lombardi

Created on: July 13, 2009

Fifty thousand people used to live here,

Now it's a ghost town..

Because of that bomb we found,

We pushed through the enemy defences,

Right trigger, right trigger kill them as they run,

And this game is meant for fun?

Killing, slaughtering, fighting the war..

Like they've never seen before.

An evil mind is brewing,

brainwashing taking place,

an unconsious mind is learning these new ways,

the ways of war..

War is not a game, it should be stopped..

and so should all the violence and the killing too..

But this is never-ending it is human..

To kill, to avenge, to bully, to hate..

And in the end we will reach our fate.

Violence is human and nothing can stop it..

Unless we change to something different,

something new, something fair..

But this is nothing but a whisper..

a whisper in the air.
