SAVING MONEY ON AN ECO-FRIENDLY WEDDING
Everyone is trying to save money and also have a great wedding, but also everyone is trying to become more eco-friendly. Being eco-friendly doesn't stop at buying eco-friendly groceries bags or driving a fuel efficient hybrid car. Today green is making its way into the wedding world. And its making its way in a very fashionable and affordable way. We know that being under economically hard times can be rough on brides. Not to mention all the stress they are already under from the months of wedding planning ahead. So today's brides not only want to be affordable but simple as well.
Lets start at the top. One of the biggest part of your budget is location. Locations is the key to having a fabulous wedding every one will remember but it can also be a budget buster. A really cool eco-friendly wedding location is a greenhouse conservatory. In this location you kill two birds with one stone because you have floral taken care of as well. Instead of buying or importing expensive flowers that tend to go to waste after the wedding, why not bring your wedding location to the flowers. And if you are thinking in the long run perspective, one less person delivering flowers is one less truck putting emissions in to the air. This location is also flexible. If you don't have any greenhouses in your area an outside garden, or even a park well serve the same purpose.
So we got wedding locations out the way let move to the next biggest budget buster. Food. Catering prices for good quality gourmet food can range from $50-$100+ per person. That's already close to $10,000 for around 100 guest. Cutting cost in food may not be easy but it can be done. Starting with organic food. It is not only more healthy to eat but often tastes a lot better then store bought food. There are lots of organic farms and produce markets that you, or your caterer, can shop from. And you will have peace of mine knowing that you are not feeding your guest fruits and vegetables that have been sprayed with harsh chemicals.
Now the fun part of the wedding, picking out table centerpieces and wedding favors. Lets start with the centerpieces. It doesn't take a lot to make your table look elegant. You can take a simple wooden box, made out of recycled wood of course, fill it with moss and go around the park or forest and find interesting branches. Simply stick them inside the moss. You can even go a step further by taking ribbon and recycled paper, tying them to the branches and writing little notes on them. One step further? Purchase some organic flowers to stick in between the spaces for a more formal do it yourself look.
For a simple favor idea buy some plant or flower seeds, pour them into an organza bag, tie with ribbon and have on the table for each guest. Inform the guest what type of seed(s) they are and planting instructions and you have it. Simple, elegant, budget and eco-friendly. Being eco-friendly doesn't just stop there. With new tends starting each and every day you can have eco friendly wedding invitations, wedding gifts and even wedding gowns. Here are some sites that I found to help you along with having a green budget friendly wedding.
