Tempus fugit...! That is 'time flies...!'
Decades ago, was the celebration of a Legend, who after being crowned the king of Rock 'n' Roll answered the called of the Mother Nature - death.
It wasn't a gainsay that the king of rock during his time, was the best. Elvis tried his best in all ramifications to blend his music to fit all genres of life. But one needs to understand that everyone is the king of himself, and Elvis case was no exemption. Indeed, Elvis proved to the world that he was the king of rock that has influenced music. But I will like to let you understand that the one who had really influenced music was the king of Pop Michael Jackson.
Michael was indeed the king that has influenced music, because Michael knew that the past might not be Utopia, the present might not be salubrious, but he worked harder to articulate the future. This believe made him realized that 'we are the world.' This realization made him join hand with the rest of the world stars to bring the world together as one.
At first, I will like to say that the king of reggae Bob Marley was far better of the king of rock. Today, Bob is dead but his style of music is still alive. Further more, many young upcoming artists still follow his footsteps and I know that in generation to come everyone will love to listen to his reggae medley. But in the case of Elvis, his death led to the end of rock music.
The first African American to appear on MTV base, was a great achievement, the drive to become the best made him press further. His relentlessness was the key of his success. Little wonder why he asked us to 'beat it' when the problem arises. 'Looking into the mirror will show us the true picture of who we are.' This is Jackson!
Deserting the rumour of the acrimonious citizen, who will never deceit from slandering, Michael was a loyal, humble, kind and generous. He was of course the sponsorer of thirty-nine motherless babies home. He was part of the campaign against HIV Aids. This show us that he was a man after God's heart.
Though name died after the man, this was not so in the case of 'Smokey.' 'Wacko Jacko' after 189 awards, Grammy inclusive, was honoured with the award of life after his glorious exit. Little wonder why the pastor echoed; 'there will be not be another Michael.' Looking at the Laurel room of Elvis, Michael case was different. He was in no small amount master to the king of Rock.
The 'Moon Walker,' a great dancer that every child wants to take after. Everyone wants to learn these dance steps. His dance steps were the greatest motivation to the life of Usher Raymond and many more. Everybody has copied Michael but there will not be a duplicate. Blending his great dance steps to his music was not only perfectionism, but a harmonious agreement between the duos.
As if it was not enough, Michael revolutionizes the face of music video. This made 'thriller' and 'dangerous' his best selling album. His video was synonymous to the war and action film that are been short my Wesly Snip. These blends in music made him the best and gave him edge over Elvis.
To be candid, I never listen to Elvis songs, but all I know is that my mother is a living fan of Elvis. Today, the whole world knew about his song, they knew about his death and they confessed they love Michael. Michael united the world, he preached against racial discrimination.
His death was a testimony to these.
Just ask your one year old kid to choose, who the king of music is and you will be surprised to hear Michael Jackson. He's indeed, the king of music.
