There are all kinds of activities taking place on St. Patrick's Day, such as parades, parties, family gatherings, and school concerts. There is no doubt that you have a collection of photos of all these events over the years. You can put them to good use by creating a St. Patrick's Day themed scrapbook page or even a full scrapbook that you can unveil next year when the holiday comes around once more.
The main thing to use is green or gold paper because these are the colors associated with St. Patrick's Day. You should also brainstorm a list of images that you can use, such as a shamrock, a leprechaun a rainbow or gold coins. No page would be complete without a few Irish quotes for the theme and that suit the photos that you use. The Internet is a great source for ideas and free patterns to use for this craft and you may actually have a difficult time narrowing down your choices because of the wealth of resources that you find online.
Go through your collection of photos and choose all the ones that are related to St. Patrick's Day festivities. Sort through these to choose the ones you want to use for your themed scrapbook page. Take them into a retail location to have copies made so that you won't ruin the original and can still have it in your photo album. By doing this you have copies to experiment with in cutting the photos in various shapes and sizes so that you can have several photos on the page.
Choose the background color of the page, which for St. Patrick's Day should be green and gather the supplies that you need, such as scissors, glue, stickers and the trim you want to use for the page. You also need a background for each of the photos, which should be white or cream in color to make it stand out against the green background. Print out the page on cardstock and cut out the squares. Now you should out the center of each of these squares - an X-acto knife works well for this. This will form the frames for each of your photos.
Position the photos in each of the cut out cardstock squares to make sure you have the portion of the photo showing in the frame. This will give you the chance to see what it will look like before you actually glue the frame to the photo. When you are satisfied that it looks the way you want it to look, then you can glue it onto the scrapbook page.
Various sizes of photos on the page allow you to have a good representation of the specific event that you want to display in a St. Patrick's Day themed scrapbook page. Maybe you would like to have a central larger photo and smaller ones around the sides. You may want to stagger the position of the photos so that they appear to be random on the page.
Once you do have the page complete, you have a unique gift for anyone that is part of the photos that you use.
