After a company creates its own website, the next important step is the constant improvement of the parameters of the website, since the Internet is evolving every second that passes. Thus, continuous improvement and adaptation to new technical data and needs and wishes of the Internet users, and would-be customers, is essential for long-term, efficient and profitable operation of a business website.
Moreover, special attention should be given to marketing versus advertising. The aggressive promotional policy of many sites to attract customers, nowadays is considered to be outdated. As the average level of education of Internet users is rising and they gain experience in web navigation, they are looking for more genuine websites, through which they can have access to increased information about concepts, events, products and services.
Thus, corporate websites should be continuously enriched with selected content, not only with advertising banners. The user's time is limited and can not be wasted on useless ads. A company should offer the web user something valuable to compensate for his/her spending time on the site.
In this context, an enterprise should include in its website, announcements and description of new products, as well as itemized lists and detailed price data sheets.
The greatest possible use of multimedia applications, from the very first moment that the user enters the site (where there should be an attractive company introduction) is necessary, since it adds to the site's animation. Any company with web presence should set the principle of continuous improvement of the site, transforming it from static to more dynamic.
In addition, the possibility of a user's interaction with the webmaster , will surely be welcomed, contributing to the expression of interest on thepotential customer'spart and thus achieving sales.
Furthermore, as a result of the development of Internet Search Engines, it is vital for the site to be "searchable", to make it feasible, namely, for a user to "see" it, if he or she performs a search in a directory where the company is listed or if he or she enters the relevant search terms.
That is, the webmaster of a company's website should always aim, through the use of links and the notification in various directories, blogs, newsgroups, groups of interest, to what is called Search Engine Optimization. Therefore, the ultimate purpose, is the development of web traffic that "passes" daily-visits the pages of the site. Statistically a percentage of those visits will lead to a successful sale.
Finally, each business website should allow visitors to participate in a forum or a blog, or both, already set up, so that they can contact and exchange views with other users, fans, visitors, bringing in this way even more publicity to the website.
