Internet is well known. Every computer savvy is familiar with the use of Internet. But there is still a section of human society who does not use computers. They have a misconception that if the computer is switched off or not working, they will not be able to send the email to the receiver. The email will be lost somewhere in the transit. This is not a joke. There are still many people who are not familiar with the concept of Internet. But people, who use the Internet, know its beauty.

To understand the concept of Internet technically, we need to be familiar with networking and World Wide Web. There are many terms involved like Hypertext Transfer Protocol, Web space, host, client, server, IP address, data packets and client browser viz. Internet Explorer, Firefox etc. Apart from these general techie terms there is other section of threats related to information security and risks. Risks and fear involve virus attacks, spyware, adware, information tracker and other intruders in the form of downloadable software, email attachments with attractive subjects, outside unsecured foreign electronic device access. To provide security there antivirus and anti-spyware software from different vendors like Symantec, Norton, MacAfee, Avast and Quick Heal with regular updates to tackle new viruses. They validate every file, software and access web sites on our machine. While scanning if they come across any vulnerable risky item, they remove it from our personal computers.

Internet is like other electronic product. To use the Internet, we should be aware of its pros and cons. Depending on their level of impact; we should be prepared with alternate solutions. It means that as we start using the Internet, its dependency day by day increases. If something goes wrong, we should not get stuck. Hence we should use the Internet safely maintaining our moral ethics.

We can get the Internet access from different Internet service providers like Comcast. They provide attractive offers like free modem and wi-fi router, cash back scheme, low cost service, high speed Internet with PowerBoost etc. We need quality web browser to surf the net. Currently there are number of good browsers like Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and FireFox etc. Computer hardware configuration should have enough RAM of at least 512 MB or more.
