Khaki pants and pleated skirts
mixed with solid polo shirts
saddle oxfords, cardigans
must be time for school again
Not that shade, no that's too red
keep on looking, that's not our plaid
Pants of navy and khaki, too
a sweater vest for when it's cool
Polyester, wrinkle free
Must have a collar, can't wear a tee
Mid-knee length, can't be too short
Above 3rd grade, can't wear a skort
What happened back before uniforms -
before navy and khaki became the norm?
How much easier it must have been
for school to start back up again
