Poetry: Mythology

by Christine Mcdermott

Created on: July 13, 2009

Persephone, at long last, is back with her mother

When Spring starts by giving the world its birth

From tiny seeds sown when placed in the earth.

Demeter is grateful for the small amount of time

When Summer comes in like a lion, out like a lamb"

How calmly and so easily she encourages the land.

Zeus made the way for his daughter to come home

Counting the number of pomegranate seeds taken

Sadness would Fall because three seeds she had eaten.

Hades couldn't live with out her he made that clear

The months his wife spent in the underwold was Winter

This mythology explains the four seasons every year.
